Course Overview:
This course is designed for children between the ages of 6 and 14 who want to learn how to sail in a fun and exciting environment. It doesn’t matter whether the child has never sailed before or is learning to race. This course caters for each student’s individual needs. Run with the Yachting Australia Get into Sailing Syllabus.
For this course we use a mixture between the International Optimist, Vagabond, and Pacer Dinghies.
The Junior Sailing Program follows the Yachting Australia ‘Get into Sailing’ Syllabus:
Level 1 – Start Sailing 1
This is the initial entry level of the course. It is designed to provide a safe and enjoyable introduction to dinghy sailing. The course includes an introduction to fundamental boat handling skills and essential knowledge that will all the students the freedom or sailing small boats with the guidance from the Instructor. At the completion of this level the students will be issued with the Yachting Australia Start Sailing 1 Qualification
