The Queensland Identification & Development Program about to Start

The Noosa Yacht & Rowing Club will play host to the first camp on the 26^th, 27^th & 28^th March. The Sabot Development Camp will be a “live in” camp run over two nights and two days.

Participants will have access to some of Queensland’s best coaches and youth sailors to help them learn the skills and knowledge required to race their sabots. The schedule for the weekend will include a number of intense on water sessions, as well as class room type theory sessions, and a unique opportunity to meet and train with a number of the Queensland Academy of Sport Queensland Sailing Team members who are currently in the Australian Youth Team and are going to compete at the ISAF Youth Worlds in Turkey in July this year, as well as their Yachting Australia High Performance Coach Adrian Finglas. 

The Sabot Development Camp is being run by the Noosa Yacht & Rowing Club in partnership with the South Queensland Sabot Association (SQSA) and Yachting Queensland, and the camp is open to all sabot sailors from Qld.

The QIDP will include a number of development camps throughout the year across the state with the next one being an Optimist Development Camp at Humpybong Yacht Club on the 16^th, 17^th & 18^th of April. This camp will be of a similar format to the Sabot camp. For more information check the YQ website and the Qld Opti website in the coming weeks.

The QIDP program includes the following camps:

·         Bowen in July

·         Brisbane in July

·         Maroochydore in August

·         Lake Tinaroo in September

·         Yeppoon in September

·         more that are still in negotiations
