Queensland Trailable Yacht and Sportsboat Championships 2010
Saturday 5th - Sunday 6th June 2010 Organising Authority: Capricornia Cruising Yacht Club in conjunction with Yachting Queensland NOTICE OF RACE 1. RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing The Prescriptions and Special Regulations Part 1 of Yachting Australia will apply. 2. ADVERTISING 2.1 The Regatta is classified as a Category C event in accordance with ISAF Regulation 20 and the prescriptions of Yachting Australia. 2.2 Competitors may be required to affix bow stickers displaying sponsor's names/logo(s). These items will be supplied by the Organising Authority and they will be affixed as prescribed in the Sailing Instructions. 3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 3.1 All competitors shall be members of Yachting Australia. 3.2 Eligable boats must comply with the current AUSTRALIAN TRAILABLE YACHT AND SPORTS BOAT RULE. 3.3 A division for Sportsboats with valid SMS certification may be considered if interest is sufficient 3.4 International and interstate competitors are eligible to compete, however, they will not be eligible for the Queensland Championship title or perpetual trophies. 3.5 Mimimum safety requirements are Cat 5 and Maritime Safety Queensland rules for Partially Smooth Waters.
3.6 The Championship is open to competitors in the following events. Entries shall be submitted by the prescribed date via the email to secretary@ccyc.org.au or by post to Secretary, CCYC, 3.7 Entries close at 1700 hrs on Friday 28th May 2010 including payment. Late entries will be accepted upon payment of an additional late fee of $30 up to 1800hrs on Friday 4th June 2010. 3.8 Competitors shall acknowledge the Entry Declaration, Competitors Code of Conduct and ISAF Anti Doping Policy online at the time of entry.. 3.9 A confirmation email and receipt will be sent to the nominated email address, or postal address once an entry has been made. Entries will be displayed on the event website. 4. FEES (including GST)
4.1 Meal Ticket System A meal ticket system will be operating at a cost of $40 per head. This will entitle the holder to Cooked Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and Dinner on Saturday and the Presentation Dinner on Sunday evening. Casual meals can be purchase at any time. 5. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
6. MEASUREMENT 6.1 All boats and equipment shall comply with current class measurement rules and restrictions, or measurements used to formulate their CBH. All boats and equipment shall be made available for measurement by the race committee or nominated representative prior to, and any time during the regatta. 7. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS 7.1 The Sailing Instructions will be available at the registration on Friday 4th June, and may be available prior to that date on the CCYC website www.ccyc.org.au/trailables 8. REGATTA LOCATION 8.1 The regatta location is Capricornia Cruising Yacht Club, 8.2 Mooring facilities will be available at the CCYC pontoon and the Keppel Bay Marina. 9. RACING AREA 9.1 The racing area will be on 10. COURSES 10.1 The courses will be a mixture of triangular courses, windward/leeward and a passage race. Further details will be found in the sailing instructions. 11. SCORING
11.1 The regatta will consist of up to five races of which three races shall be completed to constitute a series.
11.2 The number of races to count shall be as follows
a) When fewer than five races have been completed, a boat’s series score shall be the total of her scores. b) When five races have been completed a boat’s series score shall be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. 12. MEDIA 12.1 In submitting the entry form, all competitors, parents, legal guardians/custodians provide their permission for their (or their son's/daughter's) photographs, or photographs of their boat, to be used for public viewing and posting on the event or other websites. 13. PRIZES 13.1 Trophies will be awarded to the first three placed boat in each event if there is sufficient entries. 13.2 PBH prizes may be given. 14. INSURANCE 14.1 All boats competing in the 2010 Queensland Trailable Yacht and Sportsboat Championship shall have third party insurance cover of not less than AUS $5,000,000 (recommended AUS $10,000,000). 14.2 All competitors who submit the Entry Form are deemed to have made a declaration that they hold such cover. 14.3 Competitors may be asked to provide details of such insurance at the time of entry. 15. DISCLAIMER 15.1 It is the competitor's decision to enter an Event or to start and continue in any race. Competitors shall accept that their participation in an Event is at their exclusive risk in every respect. See Rule 4, Decision to Race. 15.2 The Organising Authority and the Host Club, their officers, members, servants and agents accept no responsibility in respect of loss of life, personal injury or damage to property which may be sustained by reason of their participation or intended participation in this event or howsoever arising in connection with the event. 16. AMENDMENTS Any amendments to this Notice of Race will be posted on the CCYC web site www.ccyc.org.au/trailables 17.
