Camp Quality Kids Take Special Reef Trip Off Townsville
The reef off Townsville will come alive this weekend for more than 70 Camp Quality children and their families visiting the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
The trip is possible thanks to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority donating $15 000, the proceeds of the Eureka Prize for Biodiversity Research and employee fundraising.
Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority Chairman Virginia Chadwick said the Townsville reef trip was one of four taking place along the coast this Saturday (7 October 2006). “In Townsville, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority has teamed up with Sunsea Cruises to coordinate a day-long trip to Yanks Jetty on Orpheus Island this Saturday,” she said. “We are pleased the proceeds of the Eureka Prize will be put to good use and are proud of our employees banding together to raise money in their own time for such a worthwhile cause. “The day trip will be a great way for everyone to relax, swim, snorkel and just enjoy the spectacular Marine Park.”
