Members Vote at Yachting Queensland General Meeting

Club and Class Delegates together with Board and Life Members gathered for the Yachting Queensland general meeting on Saturday September 2 at Manly.

The purpose of the meeting was to vote on three resolutions put forward by the Yachting Queensland Board of Directors.  The two key resolutions focused on the adoption of a new system for collecting membership fees and the adoption of a new Yachting Queensland constitution.

Both of these key resolutions are important initiatives in the continued development of Yachting Queensland.

By the conclusion of the meeting two of three resolutions submitted were successfully accepted by Delegates, Board and Life Members.

The new system for collecting membership fees was successfully accepted by the majority after considerable discussion and debate.

The new Yachting Queensland constitution failed to obtain the required 75% of the total vote.  It will be refined and developed further before being resubmitted to the membership.

During the meeting members also voted to accept the capitation fee structure for 2006/ 2007.
