Yachting Queensland Junior/ Youth Sailing Camp & Regional Coaching Regatta

Come and learn from Professional Coaches Nathan Outteridge & Mark Tonner-Joyce for a fun filled camp of coaching followed by a one day coaching regatta.

Venue:  Maroochy Sailing Club, Chambers Island, Bradman Ave, Maroochydore Qld 4558
Date:    Camp 25th – 27th September 2006 (inclusive)
            Regional Coaching Regatta 28th September 2006
Time:    9.00am – 5.00pm

Age Group

Sailors must be 8 years or older but less than 19 years on 31st December 2006.

Eligibility:
               
All sailors MUST provide evidence of racing experience, club level minimum.  Entry into the Yachting Queensland Camp is at  the discretion of Yachting Queensland.

Invited Classes:
      
All sailing dinghies are invited – Youth Classes strongly encouraged.

Camp Enrolment:
   
Camp enrolment forms and payment MUST be completed and returned to Yachting Queensland by 4.00pm Friday 15th September 2006.

Regatta Enrolment:
Regatta enrolments can be completed at the start of the camp.

Camp Cost:
             $160 one-handed boat (including GST) 
                                 $200 two-handed boat (including GST)
                                * If more than 40 participants attend the camp then Yachting Queensland will refund each participant 
                                $30 after the camp.

Regatta Cost:
         FREE to all camp participants 
                                $40 per boat to non-camp participants

The aim of this camp is to develop the skills and knowledge of participants. The group will be set achievable goals in skill development, tactical and rule knowledge, to enable camp participants to compete at State, National and International level within the sport.  The training program is also aimed at improving the knowledge of local coaches.

Camp organisers expect the children to behave in an acceptable manner and will expel any child who breaks the rules of the camp.  There will be no smoking or drinking of alcohol by the pupils at the camp. The children will be expected to assist with the cleaning up and general tidiness of the venue.  Maroochy Sailing Club will have their canteen open for those wanting to purchase lunch and snacks.

• Boat  • Note book and pens
• Personal Flotation Devices • Get Into Small Boat Sailing Logbook
• Wet suits and sailing clothes • Hat and sunglasses
• Towels • Water bottles  • Racing Rules of Sailing 05-08 (highly recommended) • Snack / Lunch, unless purchasing from Maroochy Sailing Club Canteen
