Nominate Now For the Australian Youth Olympic Festival
The Australian Youth Olympic Festival (AYOF) is held biennially by the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC). After three very successful events in 2001, 2003 and 2005 the AOC have committed to another AYOF in 2007. The main aim of the AYOF is to develop our Olympic stars of the future, and to provide aspiring Olympians with an idea of what the Olympics are all about.
REGATTA DETAILS
Venue: Sydney – Farm Cove, just off the Opera House
Festival Date: 17 to 21 January (inclusive)
Race Format: Team Racing
Boat: Puffin Pacer Dinghy
Competition Rules: The competition will be run under the International Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-2008 Appendix D, Team Racing Rules.
Age Group: Sailors must be 15 years or older by the 1st January 2007 but less than 19 years on 31st December 2007
Weight Category: The combined weight per crew shall be not less than 110kg
No. of Athletes: 36 boys and 36 girls in 12 teams. (Each team will consist of a maximum of 6 athletes – 3 boys and 3 girls)
Officials: 24 team officials. (maximum 2 team officials per team).
Invited Countries: Australia (7 State/Territory), Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand and USA.
Cost: $165.00 per participant (accommodation, flights from nearest capital city, and meals are as per AYOF07, Australian Teams Nomination Guidelines.
